Is the Listings project legit? ›

One of the things that makes Listings Project different from every other real estate or job listing site is how carefully we vet our listings. We vet and personally review each listing to make sure they meet our standards for equity and inclusion and we check for discriminatory or biased language.

The majority of NYCHA developments were built between 1945 and 1965. Why are they called the projects in New York? ›

"The Projects" is slang for subsidized public housing, specifically large high-rise apartment blocks built in the mid 20th century for people living below the poverty level. The term is not unique to NYC.

First Houses is a public housing project in the East Village, Manhattan, New York City and was one of the first public housing projects in the United States. First Houses were designated a New York City Landmark and National Historic Landmark in 1974. They are managed by the New York City Housing Authority.
